ABOUT US
About Global Sikh Charitable Trust
Global Sikh Charitable Trust was founded in November 2019 by Avtar Singh, along with his wife Rajinder Kaur, his brother Pritam Singh (who left us in August 2020), and a few close friends, with a heartfelt mission to help underprivileged children complete their education and build a better future.
The inspiration to serve came from the teachings of our late parents, Sdn. Ravinder Kaur and S. Gurbaksh Singh, who always instilled in us the values of compassion, selfless service, and helping those in need.
With these values deeply rooted in our hearts, we laid the foundation of this trust. What began as a small initiative driven by family values has today grown into a collective movement of compassion, education, and community service.
Our Beginning
Our primary mission was to support children from financially weak families by helping them continue their education without interruption.
Each request for help is carefully verified, and the fees are paid directly to schools, colleges, or institutions by cheque, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
Serving Humanity in Crisis
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, our trust broadened its efforts beyond education. We stepped forward to serve the community by providing:
- Free medicines and sanitization drives in various localities
- Dry ration kits to hundreds of families
- Free transportation for the sick and needy
Financial aid to people who lost jobs or small businesses, helping them restart their livelihoods
We also organized free medical camps, bringing essential healthcare to those in need.
